WJT Surveying Limited was founded by William Tyas a residential surveyor with many years experience of appraising and valuing residential property in Truro, Mid and West Cornwall.
We are an RICS qualified and regulated residential surveying firm, and also members of the Residential Property Surveyors Association (RPSA) and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).
Our Surveys
Our ethos is quality rather than quantity. As an independent firm we are able to manage our diary and workload to ensure we deliver an excellent quality, thorough, comprehensive and jargon-free report to our clients in a timely fashion (most survey’s delivered within 3 working days following inspection). We are more interested in providing this high level of service to you our client, than in churning out a higher volume of mainly pre-populated reports full of standard phraseology that typify the surveys provided by larger chain companies leaving you with more questions than answers.
We will gladly discuss the property and any specific concerns you may have beforehand to enable us to recommend the appropriate level of service to you. Alternatively if you already know which service you require please contact us either by phone, email or using the quote function on this site for us to promptly provide a quote and get your survey arranged.
Prior to inspection we will undertake in-depth research into the property including an assessment of flood risk, planning history, ground conditions and previous use of the site. In line with the RPSA’s enhanced service standards we will carry out a full and thorough inspection of every property regardless of the service level chosen. Following inspection we will forward you the survey report (as above; usually within 3 working days following inspection) and will gladly discuss the findings of the report with you after you have read it, to ensure that you are in possession of the information you need to inform your decision making when purchasing the property.

All produced by a qualified RICS Registered Valuer in line with the RICS Valuation – Global Standards and UK National Supplement.
William Tyas – Company Founder and Surveyor
William, usually known as Will, is based in Truro and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters; ideally somewhere local, on the coast and in the sunshine. Outside of family life he enjoys playing squash, cycling (usually with a beer stop on route!), watching live cricket and football, socialising with his friends, and barbecuing during the warmer months.
